Say the points are

(x1, y1) = (2, -8)

(x2, y2) = (4, 1)

Slope(m) = (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1)

m = (1 - (-8)) / (4 - 2)

m = 9/2.

Slope of the line is 9/2.
