The polynomial 6x 2 -14x -12

6x ^2 - 18x + 4x - 12

6x (x - 3) + 4(x - 3)

Take out common term x - 3 in the above expression.

6x 2 -14x -12 = (x - 3) (6x + 4)

Factoring of  6x 2 -14x -12 = (x - 3) 2(3x + 2)
