Determine the force-couple system about the origin which would replace the force, F?

0 votes

The force, F = 50 N, is being applied at the point shown at an angle of θ = 45° and at a distance d = 1 m from the origin O. Determine the force-couple system about the origin which would replace the force, F.

Select one:
a. MO = 35.36 Nm clockwise
b. F = 50 N at 45°, MO = 35.36 Nm clockwise
c. F = 50 N at 45°, MO = 35.36 Nm counter-clockwise
d. MO = 35.36 Nm counter-clockwise

Calculate the resultant force:

FR=F=50 N

Calculate the couple moment:

MR=Fsin45*d

     =Fdsin45

     = (50)(1)sin45

     =35.36 (counter-clockwise)

Therefore, the option C is correct
