cotx/cscx+1

Multiply denominater and numerator with cscx-1

=cotx(cscx-1)/(cscx+1)(cscx-1)

Simplify

=cotx(cscx-1)/(csc^2x-1)

Recall  csc2 θ - cot2 θ = 1 ---->  csc2 θ-1 = cot2θ

=cotx(cscx-1)/(cot^2x)

=cscx-1/cotx

hope that helps you
