The linear parent function f(x) = x and it is also called Identity function.

The linear parent function does not the follow the above four options.

Properties of linear parent function f(x) = x :

  • The domain and range are the set of all real numbers.
  • It has a slope of m = 1 and a y-intercept at (0, 0).
  • The graph of the identity function is a line for which each x-coordinate equals the corresponding y-coordinate.
