Case (i)

Initially the sled starts from rest.

The Initial Velocity = 0 m/sec

Final Velocity = 444 m/sec in 2.04 s.

Then accerlation = Change in velocity / change in time.

a = (Final Velocity - Initial Velocity) / time

a = (444 - 0) / 2.04

a = 217.64 m/sec².

Therefore accerlation while starting from rest = 217.64 m/sec².

Case (ii)

Now the Car is brought to be stop again in 2.73sec.

Initial Velocity = 444 m/sec

Final Velocity = 0.

Accerlation = Change in velocity / change in time.

a = (0- 444) / 2.73

a = -162.63 m/sec².

Therefore accerlation while coming to rest = -162.63 m/sec².
