Two boats leave harbour simultaneously. Boat A travels South at 104 km/hr and boat B travels South-West at 127 km/hr. Calculate the velocity of boat A relative to boat B, in magnitude and direction. (5) 1.2 An aeroplane travels at 200 km/hr in still air. A wind is blowing at 60 km/hr from the South-West. Calculate the following: 1.2.1 The direction in which the pilot must steer in order to travel due North (3) 1.2.2 The velocity of the aeroplane in relation to the ground (2) 1.3 A bullet is fired at a velocity of 300 m/s at an angle of 200 to the ground. Calculate the following: 1.3.1 The maximum height reached by the bullet. (3) 1.3.2 The horizontal range of the bullet. (2)
