Substitute x  =  3,  y  = - 6 in the expression (xy)/(x-y)

(xy)/(x-y)   =   [ (3)(-6) ] / [(3) - (-6) ]

                 =   [ -18 ] / [3 + 6 ]

                 =   [ -18 ] / [9 ]

(xy)/(x-y)   =  -2
