The Equation

ax + b  =  cx + d

Subtract "cx" from each side

ax + b - cx  =  cx + d - cx]

ax - cx + b  =  d

x(a - c) + b  =  d

d  =  x(a - c) + b

Answer :

d  =  x(a - c) + b
