P(4p-3q)-pq , p=1/2 q=1/4? studying for math test and dont understand how to do this?ok so im suppose to evaluate and this question is on my practice test and i happened to get it wrong and dont understand how to find out the right answer and the teacher said that there will be problems like this on the test and i dont want to fail so i was wondering if anyone can show me step by step on how to find the answer and not just give me the answer without any work,

p(4p-3q)-pq, p = 1/2 , q = 1/4

Substitute the p,q values in given expression.

= 1/2(4*1/2-3*1/4)-1/2*1/4

= 1/2(2-3/4)-1/8

= 1/2*5/4-1/8

= 5/8-1/8

= 4/8

= 1/2
