In arthemetic sequence a n = a+(n-1)d

a is first term and d is common difference.

Here n =7,d = -4

4 = a+(7-1)(-4)

4 = a+6(-4)

4 =a-24

Add 24 to each side.

4+24 = a-24+24

28 = a

So a =28
