We know that Tanx = Sinx/Cosx

Cotx = Cosx/Sinx

1/Cosx = Secx and Cscx = 1/Sinx

And the identity is Sin^2x+Cos^2x = 1

Left hand side = tan(x)+cot(x)

= sin(x)/cos(x)+cos(x)/sin(x)

= (sin^2(x)+cos^2(x))/cos(x)sin(x)

= 1/cos(x)sin(x)

= 1/cos(x)*1/sin(x)

= Sec(x)Csc(x)

= Csc(x)Sec(x)

= Right hand side.
