Substitution method

y = 2x +4 ---> (1)

y = -1/2x -3 ---> (2)

From (1) substitute the y  value in (2).

2x +4 = -1/2x -3

2x +1/2x  = -3-4

5/2x  = -7

x  = -14/5

Substitute the x  value in (1).

y  = 2(-14/5)+4

= -28/5+4

= -8/5

Solution = -14/5 and y  = -8/5

Point of intersection is (-14/5 , -8/5).
