Given equation -14x^2+7x+9 = 0.

Compare to the quadratic equation ax^2+bx+c = 0.

a  = - 14 ,  = 7, = 9.

Discriminant  = b ^2 -  4ac.

Substitute the values a , b and c.

( 7 ) ^2 -  4 ( - 14 ) ( 9 ) = 49 + 504 =  553.

Solution : The value of the discriminant is 553.
