Substitution method :

The system of equations are 6x - 2y = 24 and 3x + y = 24.

solve 3x + y =24 for y ,Since the coefficient of y is 1.

y = 24 - 3x.

Substitute y = 24 - 3x in 6x - 2y = 24 , and solve for x.

6x - 2(24 - 3x) = 24

6x - 48 + 6x = 24

12x - 48 = 24

12x = 24 + 48

12x = 72

x = 72/12 = 6.

Substitute the value x = 6 in y = 24 - 3x, and solve for y.

y = 24 - 3(6)

y = 24 - 18

y = 6.

Therefore, solution of the system (x, y) = (6,  6).
