A 0.3 m radius automobile tire accelerates from rest at a constant 2 rad/s^2. What is the centripetal acceleration of a point on the outer edge of the tire after 5 seconds?

Calculate the angular velocity by using the following formula:

ω= αdt

   = (2)(5)

   =10 rad/s

Calculate the centripetal acceleration.

aC = rω^2

      =(0.3)(10)^2 

      =30 m/s^2
