 Had it been 3m longer and 1m shorter, da area would hv been 3 cm^2 more. Find length and breadth?

let l and b are the length and breadth of the rectangle

Area of rectangle = lb = 297.

Area after modifications = (l +3) * (b-1) = 297 + 3 = 300

lb - l + 3b - 3 = 300

Substitute lb = 277

297 - l + 3b -3 = 300

- l + 3b  = 6

-297/b + 3b = 6

3b^2 - 6b - 297 = 0

b = -9 and b = 11

Since breadth is a measurement, it can not be negative. So, breadth = 11 cm

Length = 297/w = 297/11 = 27 cm

Length = 27 cm and Breadth = 27 cm

Area after modifications = (l +3) * (b-1) = 297 + 3 = 300 is wrong .

Area given in cm^2, but length and width modifictions are given in m must convert the units

Right expression is Area after modifications = (l +300) * (b-100) = 297 + 3 = 300

Ok, then please calculate the length and breadth?

Can you feel any dimensions possible with the (l +300) * (b-100) = 297 + 3 = 300?
