Given diagram is modified by naming points and drawing additioonal lines.

From figure

Radius = OA = OB = OD = 2.5 m

AC = BC = AB/2 = 2.4/2 = 1.2m

From Right angled triangle OAC

From Pythagorean Theorem OA² = OC² + AC²

2.5² = OC² + 1.2²

6.25 = OC² + 1.44

OC² = 6.25 - 1.44 = 4.81

OC² =  √4.81

OC =  2.193

Height of the tunnel = OC + OD

= 2.193 + 2.5

= 4.693 m

Solution :

Height of the tunnel = 4.693 m
