                (Commutative property of addition: a + b = b + a)

             (Distributive property: ab + ac = a(b + c))

Find the least common denominator (LCD).

Multiples of 3: 3,6,9,12,15.....

Multiples of 4: 4,8,12,16,20,.....

The least common multiple of 3 and 4 is 12.

Rewrite each fraction with a common denominator of 12.
