Given points say (x1,y1) = (14,-22)

(x2,y2) = (21,-17)

Distance between the points = √[(21-14)^2+(-17+22)^2]

= √(49+25)

= √74

Midpoint of the points = [(14+21)/2, (-22-17)/2]

= (35/2,-39/2)

= (17.5, -19.5)

Midpoint is (17.5, -19.5) and distance is √74
