Slope intercept form is y = mx+b

Here m is slope and b is intercept of y.

Line equation through the point (-2,7) and m = -2 is y-7 = -2(x-(-2))

y-7 = -2(x+2)

Add 7 to each side.

y-7+7 = -2x-4+7

y = -2x+3

The point - slope - form of a line equation is y - y₁ = m(x - x₁).
