Elimination method

3x-4y = 3 ---------> (1)

2x+y = 13

Multiple to each side by 4.

8x+4y = 52 ------------> (2)

To eliminate the y value, add the equations (1) and (2).

3x-4y = 3

8x+4y = 52

___________

11x = 55

Divide to each side by 11.

11x/11 = 55/11

x = 5

Substitute the x value in (1).

3*5-4y = 3

15-4y = 3

Subtract 15 from each side.

15-15-4y = 3-15

-4y = -12

Divide to each side by nagitive 4.

-4y/-4 = -12/-4

y = 3

Solution x = 5, y = 3.
