The inequality is x - 12 > 52.

Add 12 to each side.

x > 52 + 12

x > 64.

Solution set is {x | x > 64}.

Check :

Substitute x = 65 in x - 12 > 52.

65 - 12 > 52

53 > 52.

The above statement is true, so {x | x > 64} is the solution of x - 12 > 52.
