The equation is 2r - (5 - r) = 13 + 2r.

2r - 5 + r = 13 + 2r

3r - 5 = 13 + 2r

Subtract 2r from each side.

3r - 5 - 2r = 13 + 2r - 2r

r - 5 = 13

Add 5 to each side.

r - 5 + 5 = 13 + 5

r = 18.

Check:-

Substitute the value of r = 18 in the original equation.

2(18) - (5 - 18) = 13 + 2(18)

36 - (-13) = 13 + 36

49 = 49

The above statement is true, so the value of r = 18 in the solution of original equation.
