3m / 4 + m / 2 = -5

Least common multiple of 4, 2 = 4.

(3m + 2m ) / 4 = -5

5m / 4 = -5

Multiply each side by 4.

5m *4 / 4 = -5*4

5m  = -20

Divide each side by 5.

5m / 5 = -20/5

Solution m  = - 4.

Check :

3m / 4 + m / 2 = -5

Substitute the m  value.

3(-4) / 4 + (-4 / 2) = - 5

- 12/4 +(- 2) = - 5

- 3 - 2 = - 5

- 5 = - 5.
