7x = 154

x = 154/7 = 22

⇒ x = 22.

Substitute the x  value in equation (1).

y - 3(22) = - 30

y  = - 30 + 66

⇒ y  = 36.

Solution x  = 22, y  = 36.

Check :

Substitute the x , y  values in equation (2).

(22) + 2(36) = 94

22 + 72 = 94

94 = 94.
