The points are (2, - 1) and (4, 3).

Mid point = [(x₁+x₂)/2, (y₁+y₂)/2]

Substitute the values of (x₁, y₁) = (2, - 1) and (x₂, y₂) = (4, 3) in [(x₁+x₂)/2, (y₁+y₂)/2]

Mid point = [(2 + 4)/2, (- 1 + 3)/2]

= [6/2, 2/2]

= [3, 1].

The mid point of the segment is (3, 1).
