B) SUBSTITUTING
a = 1/8
b= 12

1 + 2a - 3/2b

1 + 2a - 3/2b

Substitute a = 1/8 and b = 12 in the form.

1 + 2(1/8) - 3/[2(12)]

1 + 2/8 - 3/24

1 + 1/4 - 1/8

Rewrite the expression with common denominator.

(8 + 2 - 1)/8

9/8.

Rewrite the expression with common denominator.

= (4 + 1 - 72)/4

= (5 - 72)/4

= - 67/4.
