The equation is 2/(x - 3) + 1/4 = 2

2/(x - 3) = 2 - 1/4

2/(x - 3) = (8 - 1)/4

2/(x - 3) = 7/4

2 = 7(x - 3)/4

2 = (7x - 21)/4

8 = 7x - 21

7x  = 8 + 21

7x  = 29

x  = 29/7

Solution x  = 29/7.
