If the velocity of the particle is perpendicular to the direction of the magnetic field,

0 votes

A particle having an electric charge q = 3.20×10^-19 C is injected into a magnetic field B = 0.40 T with a speed of 6.80×10^6 m/s. The velocity of the particle is perpendicular to the direction of the magnetic field.
What is a magnitude of the magnetic force on the particle?

Calculate the magnetic force on the particle.

f = qvB

  =(3.20×10^-19)(6.80×10^6)(0.4)

 =8.704×10^-13  N
