A) The expression is (3 • y) • z.

Apply Associative Property of Multiplication: (a • b) • c = a • (b • c).

= 3 • (yz)

= 3 • (yz)

= 3yz.

The equivalent expression is 3yz.

B) The expression is x + (y + 21).

Apply Associative Property of Addition: a + (b + c) = (a + b) + c.

= (x + y) + 21

= x + y + 21

The equivalent expression is x + y + 21.
