The expression is [4i(- i + 3)] - [3(6 - 2i)].

First simplify the first term : 4i(- i + 3).

4i(- i + 3) = - 4i2 + 12i

Substitute i2  = - 1.

= - 4(- 1) + 12i

= 4 + 12i.

then, simplify the second term : 3(6 - 2i).

3(6 - 2i) = 18 - 6i.

And then, subtract second term from the first term : 4i(- i + 3) - 3(6 - 2i).

= 4 + 12i - (18 - 6i)

= 4 + 12i - 18 + 6i

= - 14 + 18i.

∴ 4i(- i + 3) - 3(6 - 2i) = - 14 + 18i.

So, - 14 + 18i is in the form of a + bi.
