7x^(2) + 4y^(2) − 70x − 24y + 211 = 0

To change the expressions (x 2- 10x ) and (y 2 - 6y ) into a perfect square trinomial,

add (half the x coefficient)² and add (half the y coefficient)²to each side of the equation.

Standard form of vertical ellipseimage

Where a 2 > b 2

And standard form of horizontal ellipse image

Where a 2 > b 2

Therefore, the equation  is not an ellipse.
