1) Dot product:

v = (5,2), u = (0,0)

v ∙ u = <v1, v2> ∙ <u1, u2> = v1u1 + v2u2

v∙u = 5*0 + 2* 0 = 0

The answer is B.

2) v = <2, 3>

||v|| =  √ [(v1)2 + (v2)2 ]

= √ [(2)2 + (3)2 ]

= √ [4 + 9]

= √13

The answer is C.

3) v = (5,-2), u = (0,0)

v + u = <v1, v2> + <u1, u2> = <v1+u1, v2+u2>

= (5 + 0, -2 + 0)

= (5, -2)

The answer is D.

4) v = 2i + 6j = (2, 6),

u =-5i - 2j = (-5, -2).

v ∙ u = <v1, v2> ∙ <u1, u2> = v1u1 + v2u2

= 2*-5 + 6*-2

= -10 - 12

= -22.

The answer is A.
