A man weighs 145b on earth, if the man is on the moon, with the acceleration due to gravity is Gm=5.30ft/s^2, Determine his weigh in pounds.

Weight on the earth, W_E =145 lb

Acceleration due to gravity on earth ,g_E = 32.2 ft/s²

Acceleration due to gravity on moon ,g_m = 5.3 ft/s²

Ratio of acceleration due gravity,g_m  /g_E  = 5.3/32.2=1/6.07

So Weight on the moon, W_m=(1/6.07)(W_E )

                                                      =(1/6.07)(145)

                                                      = 24 lb
