Given that the initial position of a falling ball is 10 feet (ft) from the ground and the
initial velocity is 1 ft/sec, find the position of the ball as a function of time. (The acceleration due
to gravity is −32 ft/sec2).

Initial position, y0 = 10 ft

Initial velocity, u = 1 ft/s

g = -32 ft/s²

Find the position of the ball using basic dynamic equation.

S = y0 + ut + (1/2)gt²

   = 10 + t + (1/2)(-32)t²

   = 10 + t - 16t²
