Step 1:

Find the thevenin's equivalent voltage.

1.Open the load resistor.

2.Calculate the Open Circuit Voltage. This is the Thevenin Voltage (VTH).

Redraw the circuit :

 

Use source transfermation to convert the current source to a voltage source.

Apply KVL to the loop.

Step 2:

Find Thevenin Voltage (VTH).

Thevenin Voltage VTH  = VR1 + E .

VTH  = -4(-4.1) + 7

VTH  = 16.4 + 7.

VTH  = 23.4.

Therefore Thevenin Voltage VTH  = 23.4 V.

Solution :

Thevenin Voltage is VTH  = 23.4 V.
