Step 1:

Find the Norton's short circuit current.

1. Short the load resistor.

2. Calculate the Short Circuit Current. This is the Norton Current (IN).

Redraw the circuit :

Resistor R1 and R2 are in series.

Step 2:

Now replace R1 and R2 with R.

Find the total circuit current : image.

Voltage V = 50 +20

V = 70 V

Nortons equivalent resistance is image.

Find the Current through the resistor R.

Use the CDR (current division rule ) to find the Current through the resistor R.
