Let the diameter of a cylinder be d = 10 in

                                               => 2r = 10 in      [ Where diameter = 2* radius ]

                                               => r = 10/2

                                                      = 5 in

Let the height of a cylinder be h = 5 in

Surface area of a cylinder = 2πr^2 + 2πrh  in^2

                                          = 2π(5)^2 + 2π(5)(5)  in^2

                                          = (2)(π)(25) + (2)(π)(25)  in^2

                                          = 50π + 50π  in^2

                                          = 100π in^2

Volume of the cylinder = πr^2h in^3

                                    = π(5)^2(5)  in^3

                                    = π(25)(5)  in^3

                                    = 125 in^3

Therefore the area and volume of a cylinder are 100π in^2 and 125 in^3 respectively.
