Let the radius of a cylinder be r = 12 cm

Let the height of a cylinder be h = 15 cm

Surface area of a cylinder = 2πr^2 + 2πrh  cm^2

                                          = 2π(12)^2 + 2π(12)(15)  cm^2

                                          = (2)(π)(144) + (2)(π)(180)  cm^2

                                          = 288π + 360π  cm^2

                                          = 648π cm^2

Volume of the cylinder = πr^2h cm^3

                                    = π(12)^2(15)  cm^3

                                    = π(144)(15)  cm^3

                                    = 2160 cm^3

Therefore the area and volume of a cylinder are 648π cm^2 and 2160 cm^3 respectively.
