Given, The two complex numbers are equal

 5 + 2yi  =  - x + 6i

Now equating real and imaginary parts on both sides, we have

5  =  - x and 2y  =  6

⇒  - x  =  5 and y  =  6 / 2

⇒  x  =  - 5 and y  =  3

Therefore, the value of x = -5 and the value of y = 3.

Answer :

The value of x = - 5 and the value of y = 3.
