Given Volume (V) = 1 X 10^3 litres

Height (h) = 1.5m

1litre = 0.001 m^3

Hence Volume  =  1.0 X (10^3) X 0.001

Volume  =  1 m^3 --------> (1)

Volume of cylinder = pi X r^2 X h -------> (2)

Equate equations (1) and (2)

pi X r^2 X h  =  1

Substitute pi = 22/7 and h = 1.5 in above equation

(22/7) X (r^2) X 1.5  =  1

r^2  =  1 X (7/22) X (1/1.5)

r^2  =  7/33

r^2  =  0.212121

Apply square root to each side

r  =  sqrt(0.212121)

r  =  0.46

Diameter  = 2r = 2(0.46) = 0.92 m

Answer :

Diameter is 92cm.
