 x2 - 4x -32=0

This expression it can be written as

(x)2 - 2(x)(2) +22 - 22 -32=0

Mathematics formulas: (a - b)2 = a2 - 2ab + b2

(x - 2)2+ (-32 - 4)=0

(x - 2)2-36=0

(x - 2)2 = 36

x - 2=+ or - 6

x=8 or -4

The equation image

Separate variables and constants aside by adding 32 to each side.

To change the expression into a perfect square trinomial add (half the x coefficient)² to each side of the expression

 Here x coefficient = -4. so, (half the x coefficient)² = (-4/2)2= 4

Add 4 to each side

Take square root both sides.
