The equation to the line passing through the points y-y1 = m (x-x1) here m =( y2-y1/x2-x1)

let (5,9) = (x1,y1)

    (3,t) = (x2,y2)

m = t-9/3-5

3/2 = t-9/-2

Multiply each side by 2

(3/2)2 =(t-9/-2)2

3 = -(t-9)

-t+9 = 3

-t = 3-9

-t = -6

t = 6
