please explain why 64 has an odd number of factors

64 is a perfect squre.

Usually all numbers have even ammount of factors.

But, perfect squares have the square root twice so they have an odd number.

In this case 64

Write the divisors of 64.

64 = 1 * 64

64 = 2 * 32

64 = 4 * 16

64 = 8 * 8

Thefore, factors are 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64.

Number of factors is 7.

7 is a odd number.
