Elimination method

5x+6y = -11 ---------> (1)

9x+4y = 21 ---------> (2)

Multiply to each sideof equation (1) by 4.

20x+24y = -44 -------->(3)

Multiply to each sideof equation (2) by negitive 6.

-54x-24y = -126 --------> (4)

To eliminate the y value, add the equations (3)&(4).

20x+24y = -44

-54x-24y = -126

_____________

-34x = -170

Divide to each side by negitive 34.

-34x/-34 = -170/-34

x = 5

Substitute the x value in (1).

5*5+6y = -11

25+6y = -11

Subtract 25 from each side.

25-25+6y = -11-25

6y = -36

y = -36/6

y = -6

Solution of given equations x = 5, y = -6.
