5x^2+13 = 2x^2+4

Subtract 2x^2,13 from each side.

5x^2-2x^2+13-13 = 2x^2-2x^2+4-13

3x^2 = -9

Divide to each side by 3.

3x^2/3 = -9/3

x^2 = -3

x = √-3

x = √(-3)

x = √(3i2)

x = ± 1.732 i

Complex solutions are  x = 0+ 1.732 i and x = 0 - 1.732i.
