Given f(x) = 7-2x

Remember the formula d/dx(constant) = 0

d/dx(x) = 1

f(x) = 7-2x

Apply derivative with respect of x on each side.

 f'(x) = d/dx(7-2x)

= d/dx(7)-d/dx(2x)

= -2

f'(x) = -2
