Given equations 7x+5y = -3

-9x+y = -11

Graph of equations

From the graph we can observe the intersection point of two lines at (1,-2).

Solution of the linear system x = 1, y = -2.

The system of linear equations are 7x + 5y = - 3 and - 9x + y = - 11.

Write the equations in slope - intercept form : y = mx + b, where m is slope and b is y - intercept.

The first linear equation is 7x + 5y = - 3.

5y = - 7x - 3

y = (- 7/5)x - (3/5).

Compare the equation with slope - intercept form : y = mx + b.

slope = - 7/5 and y - intercept is - 3/5.

y - intercept is - 3/5, so the line crosses the y - axis at origon (0, - 3/5)

Using slope find the next point.

Slope = rise/run = - 7/5

Start at point (0, - 3/5), move 7 units down and 5 units right, then plot the point (5, - 38/5).

The second linear equation is - 9x + y = - 11.

 y = 9x - 11.

Compare the equation with slope - intercept form : y = mx + b.

slope = 9 and y - intercept is - 11.

y - intercept is -11, so the line crosses the y - axis at (0, - 11)

Using slope find the next point.

Slope = rise/run = 9/1

Start at point (0, - 11), move 9 units up and 1 unit right, then plot the point (1, -2).

Draw the lines through these points.

Graph :

graph for the equation - x - 2y = 8

Observe the graph, the solution of the linear system (x, y) = (1, - 2).
