evaluate 4x − 2y if x = −1 and y = −5

i just need help on this question cause they put me in algebra 1 honors and im not for sure how to do this problem but we have to evaluate it.

If x = -1 & y = -5

Given expression  4x-2y

Substitute the x,y values in above expression.

= 4(-1)-2(-5)

= -4+10

= 6
